Break of Dawn Writer/Director 1990

Cast: Oscar Chavez, Tony Plana, Maria Rojo. Developed, wrote and directed groundbreaking story of Pedro J. Gonzalez, the first Spanish-language radio and recording star in the U.S. Sundance Film Festival premiere. Entry, Toronto International Film Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival, Rimini, San Sebastian and San Antonio Cinefestival. Aired on Telemundo, BBC and American Playhouse among others.

Tijuana Jews Writer/Director 2005
Documentary history of the Jewish Community of Tijuana, Mexico and the border region following a personal journey. Premiered at the San Diego Jewish & Latino Film Festivals.

Kim Weston Director 1997
Documentary featuring photographer Kim Weston at work in his studio in Wildcat Canyon in Carmel, California. Premiered with the opening of his retrospective exhibition at the Sunset Center for the Arts in Carmel.

History of the Luiseño People Director 1993
Video based on the work by Native American performance artist, James Luna. Won best in its category at the Native American Film Festival in San Francisco and was selected for the Robert Flaherty Film Seminars.

Border Brujo Director 1990
One hour experimental video featuring renowned performance artist Guillermo Gómez Peña. Won both National Latino Film and Video Festival and the San Antonio Cinefestival .

Revelaciones Director 1990
Documentary profile of legendary photographer Manuel Alvarez Bravo
which toured internationally with retrospective exhibition of his work
funded by American Express.

In the Name of the People Producer 1985
Feature length documentary on the civil war in El Salvador, narrated by Martin Sheen. Received Academy Award nomination, LASSA merit award and Cine Golden-Eagle.

Ballad of an Unsung Hero Director 1983
Award-winning documentary featuring Pedro J. Gonzalez, telegraph operator to Pancho Villa and radio pioneer in the U.S. Aired nationally on PBS and won the Golden Mike Award, Blue Ribbon at the American Film Festival, Emmy Award and honored at BFI retrospective of PBS.
