This riveting
feature film tells the incredible but true story of Elie Cohen, an Egyptian-born
Jew and top Israeli intelligence recruit whose obsession with his mission
as a double agent drove him to his death. Cohen, an accountant with a
photographic memory, left his pregnant wife to join the Mossad’s
Syrian section in 1959 and quickly infiltrated the highest ranks of the
ruling Syrian Baath party.
On the eve
of his nomination as Syria’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Cohen was
uncovered and executed in Damascus in 1965. Two years later, Israel achieved
victory in the Six Day War, defeating the Syrian Army as a direct result
of the information Cohen provided.
Starring
Emmy Award winner John Shea as Eli Cohen and the incomperable Eli Wallach
as his Mossad handler.
