Home DVD versions are available for many NCJF titles and may be purchased by individuals for personal home viewing with family and friends only. Home DVD versions are for personal home use only and are protected by US copyright law. It is strictly prohibited to screen, loan or broadcast to any group for either educational (library/classroom use) or commercial purposes.

All home video orders must be prepaid in advance of shipment.
NCJF does not rent films for home use.
Institutions are required to purchase DVDs or Blu-Rays at Educational Use price. Purchase effectively means lease for the life of the DVD or Blu-ray. Educational Use prices include license for classroom, organizational, or library use by the acquiring institution for non-paying audiences only (matriculating students, organization members or library card holders, respectively).

Purchasing a DVD/ Blu-ray for Educational Use (Library/Classroom) does not grant public performance rights. To screen a film outside of the classroom, even when no admission fee is charged, you must contact NCJF to obtain a public performance license. A screening fee will likely apply.

Some DVD/Blu-ray titles are also for sale with a Digital Site License (DSL), which allow colleges, universities or libraries to encode, locally host and stream to their community on a closed system for the life of the file format. Pricing is based on the Educational Use rate price of the DVD/ Blu-ray. Public performance of any kind is prohibited.

Arranging a Film Rental
To arrange a film rental for public exhibition, send your request in writing to the attention of Lisa Rivo via email lisarivo(at)brandeis(dot)edu.
Please provide the following information in your initial inquiry:
· Film Title(s) you wish to screen
· Preferred Format (35mm, 16mm, DCP, Beta, Blu-ray, DVD, Other)
· Screening Date(s)
· Size and type of facility including seating capacity
· Type of event (i.e.,film festival, lecture)
· Complete contact information including telephone, fax, and email address
Prices for public exhibition in theatres, museums, and cultural institutions are based on film title/format, theater or venue capacity, ticket price, and number of screenings. Rental fees include one-time public performance rights for the date(s) specified. Dates are not changeable without specific permission from NCJF.
Prices are for one screening only. Additional film screenings on the same day or on additional days can be arranged.
Format availabilty varies by title. Rental orders must be placed at least 3 weeks before the show date or rush charges may apply.
Return Shipping for Rentals
Renters are responsible for return shipping costs. Films must be returned the next business day after screening via UPS or FedEx. A late return fee will apply to materials not returned in a timely manner.
Insure the film for the amount indicated below. Failure to do so makes you liable for full replacement costs in case of loss during transit. Retain insurance receipt for your records.

35mm and 16mm Film Rentals
The rental of 35mm and 16mm prints is limited to venues with experience handling and projecting archival prints. It is essential to have a well-running projector, a clean projector gate and an experienced projectionist to show the film. The use of platter systems is not allowed.
Extra charges will be made unless the film is sent back no later than the morning following your scheduled playdate.
Extra charges will be made unless film ends are taped down. Films that are not taped down may be damaged in transit.
Extra charges will be made of $25 or more for any damage discovered to the film following our inspection and which is not due to normal usage.

This material is not licensed for public performance of any kind and may not be reproduced, duplicated or exhibited or used for instructional purposes. A $10 fee per title to cover shipping will be applied. (Packages with multiple previews will receive a bundled price.) Some of our newer titles may be available to preview through our Vimeo account.
Previews for film critics and journalists are generally available at no charge. Please contact us to make arrangements.

A rush fee of $20 per order will apply to sales needed within 1 week from the receipt of order, and rentals with show dates less than 3 weeks from the receipt of order. Please include a "need by" date with all rush orders. Sorry, we are unable to accommodate orders that must ship the same day on which they are ordered. Please note that some older titles are not available on a rush basis.

Customers outside North America have shipping options as outlined below. A rush fee of $20 will apply to orders needed less than 2 weeks from receipt of order. Customer is responsible for all customs fees, taxes and duties. All prices are subject to change without notice.
